Celebrating School Counseling Week Feb. 3-7, 2025

National School Counseling Week is a time to acknowledge the unwavering dedication of school counselors and their pivotal role in shaping our students' future. In the Twin Falls School District, our counselors are committed to ensuring students and families have the support, resources, and guidance they need from kindergarten through graduation.

At the elementary level, school counselors lay the foundation for lifelong learning by helping students develop essential life skills. They teach children to work well with others, show kindness, respect classmates and teachers, and positively navigate challenges. Counselors also support families by connecting them with vital community resources, including parenting classes, food assistance, and mental health services, ensuring students can focus on learning.

As students progress in their education, counselors help them explore academic interests, set goals, and understand their future options. Whether it’s college, technical training, or career pathways, they provide expert guidance on scholarships, financial aid, and course planning. By actively engaging parents in their child’s education, counselors empower families to make informed decisions that shape students’ futures.

This week, we celebrate and thank our school counselors for the profound impact they make in supporting students, families, and schools. Their work leaves a lasting impression, and we encourage everyone to take a moment to recognize the difference they make every day! Thank you, school counselors!
